If you are looking for an original but very easy recipe, zucchini and roasted ham balls are a delicious idea.
Follow every step to realize a delicious appetizer.
21 oz of zucchini
7 oz of stale bran bread
3,5 oz of roasted ham
2,5 oz of grated pecorino cheese
1 tsp of grated lemon zest
Breadcrumbs for breading
Grate the zucchini with a large hole grater and collect them in a bowl.
Blend the bread with a mixer until you get a fine mixture and add it to the same bowl
Add the chopped ham, eggs, grated pecorino cheese, lemon zest, salt, pepper and nutmeg into the same bowl.
Mix everything with your hands and let rest for 15 minutes.
With slightly dampened hands, form small balls using the mix and arrange them on a lined paper tray.
Cover the balls with breadcrumbs and fry in abundant oil at 338 °F
Don’t forget to turn them often so that they will cook evenly.
Drain them with a slotted spoon on a tray with parchment paper.
Salt and serve.
