With its intense fragrance and taste, mortadella wonderfully tops our savory version of classic cheesecake. Here the recipe:
Ingredients for 4 people
For the base:
– 7 oz of taralli, (an alternative can be Ritz crackers)
– 7 oz of butter
For the filling:
– 10.5 oz of soft cheese
– 2 tbs of lemon juice
– 1 tbs of lemon zest
– Salt and Pepper
– 3 slices of mortadella
- In a bowl, mix the crushed taralli (or crackers) and melted butter. Stir to combine, place the mixture in 4 small round-shaped molds or cupcake molds and put them in the fridge.
- In another bowl, mix the soft cheese with lemon juice, freshly chopped majoram, nutmeg, salt and pepper. Add the cream cheese mixture on top of the taralli base.
- Place the mini tarts in the fridge until they are ready to serve and decorate them with sliced mortadella and chopped pistachios.
